Palmar Tool Grip

The palmar tool grip places the tool in the palm of the hand at an angle, allowing the thumb, index and middle fingers to offer control over the tool when performing day to day activities. Such activities may include self care, feeding, cooking, play, craft, and work activities. Specific tool examples include hair brushes, tooth brushes, mascara tubes, razors, knives, mallets, hammers, drum sticks, and knitting needles.

Tri-Loop Goals for the Palmar Grip

  • Promote function and independence in day to day activities when using tools whether it be for play, school, work, leisure, or self care activities.
  • Offer a product that adapts easily to a wide variety of tools.
  • Offer a tool grip adaptation you can hang, clip, or wear, so you always know where to find it.

Instructions for Use

  • Simply place the tool in the middle triangular space of the Tri-Loop
  • Insert thumb, index, and middle fingers into loops
  • Move the Tri-Loop up or down on fingers to promote function, comfort, and performance
